About the event

Open Genre Workshop

Welcome to the first Unwoven Open Genre Workshop! This workshop is designed for emerging writers interested in creating a writing sample to submit to publications and eager to learn about revision or the literary publishing industry. It will be held weekly every Wednesday starting July 1st through August 3rd. Each session will last three hours over Zoom.


About the Workshop Leader

Isabel Beeman recently completed her MFA at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she also taught Creative Writing and edited prose for TIMBER Journal. Her style has been described as cinematic and surreal, and she often writes about characters who are experiencing shame and disconnection. Isabel now lives and writes in Chicago, where she will be an Adjunct Instructor of English at College of Lake County in the fall. Her fiction can be found in ExPat Press and is forthcoming in print from Veilance Press.
